New Self Assessment requirements for non-remunerated company directors – 2025/26

From the 2025/26 tax year, directors of close companies who file Self Assessment may need to report additional details, including directorships, shareholdings and dividends. The rules can apply even where no remuneration or dividends are received, and may cover dormant companies. Certain unpaid directors of registered charities and CICs are exempt.
